Study Detects Recent Instance of Human Evolution
by zagor instudy detects recent instance of human evolution by nicholas wadea surprisingly recent instance of human evolution has been detected among the peoples of east africa.
it is the ability to digest milk in adulthood, conferred by genetic changes that occurred as recently as 3,000 years ago, a team of geneticists has found.. the finding is a striking example of a cultural practice the raising of dairy cattle feeding back into the human genome.
it also seems to be one of the first instances of convergent human evolution to be documented at the genetic level.

Do you believe in god? Do you demand the same evidence of him as you do evolution?
S
Yes I do. I did not demand evidence but He gave it anyway. This has been fun but I am done here. I find it interesting that I have been called names, told I was ignorant and all from people who I doubt have put much more research into their beliefs that I have except save maybe Leolai. All I said is I don't accept this theory as proof of the evolution of any organism into a higher more complex life form because I have never seen proof of this. The fact remains that with all this supposed evidence, it is not enough to name it the "Law" of evolution. A bacteruim can be effected by the environment to survive, all life wants to survive, but it will never grow a central nervous system. It will adapt to its surroundings, not grow a brain, it is bacteria and has been bacteria since God created it. Missing links are still missing. Leoliai-I know there are some benifits to genetics, all I have said is there is no evidence that these changes have ever lead to new more complex life form. If a percentage study was done we may find there are more detrimental effects of mutating genetic material than good. That is just common sense here. Take a walk through your local convalescent hospital and take a good look. If adaptation and natural selection were adding quality genetic material to the human genome greater than mutations were corrupting, why are we so screwed up? Why are we riddled with diseases? Abadon if you have a new gene sequence doesn't that mean you also have an old gene sequence? And since it is adaptation dependant on environmental input isn't fluctuationg information? In mapping the two genetic diseases in my ancestors, there is no evidence that we developed new information that caused us to be more highly evolved and disease resistant. The mutation happened and has been passed along since before the Vikings were raping and pilaging. Adam and Eve (scientists named) have been mapped all the way back to Africa. Again, show me any scientific evidence that shows a living human can pop up out of no where. I understand the theory completly, and it makes no sense to me. So Eve popped up, a gigantic mutation from an ape and Adam did at the same time, just popped up and the human race was here. If this works for you fine! It doesn't for me. I have no desire to defend my position on this, nor am I asking anybody here to defend theirs. ::gone and not looking at this thread again::

Satanus it is a fascination study to say the least. I am so poor at explaining things because I am not a science major. I have met 2 creation scientists in person, read their books, and studied both sides, as I said, I was an evolutionist in the past.
On antibiotoc resistant bugs, the resistance does not cause the type up new genetic material that would count as proof of evolution into a more complex life form. If so it would no longer be a theory. I'll let Dr Spentner explain it, he is just one of the scientists that I respect. Talk Origens refused to post his answer the the resistence issue.
"The antibiotics produced by these microorganisms serve them as a defense against attack by other microorganisms. Some microorganisms are endowed with genes that grant resistance to these antibiotics. This resistance can take the form of degrading the antibiotic molecule or of ejecting it from the cell. Unfortunately for human health care, the organisms having these genes can transfer them to other bacteria making them resistant as well. Although the resistance mechanisms are specific to a particular antibiotic, most pathogenic bacteria have, to our misfortune, succeeded in accumulating several sets of genes granting them resistance to a variety of antibiotics.
The acquisition of antibiotic resistance in this manner qualifies as evolution only in the sense that it is an adaptive hereditary change. It is an example only of Evolution B. It is not the type of evolution that can make a baboon out of a bacterium. The genetic change is not the kind that can serve as a prototype for the mutations needed to account for Evolution A. The genetic changes that could illustrate the theory must not only add information to the bacterium’s genome, they must add new information to the biocosm. The horizontal transfer of genes only spreads around genes that are already in some species."A Scientific Defense of a Creationist Position on Evolution
From the get go I stated that I have no problem believing in adaptation and natural selection, but not so far as it can add more complex genetic material to an organism that could create a more complex life form. The antibiotic resistant bacteria is still.....bacteria and will always be bacteria.

There is a good reason why they have yet to disprove the evolution theory
I thought new theory's were under scientific scrutiny and research to be proved, which evolution has not been as of yet. Until it is, I will not believe it. Some of look at research and say "see this is proof" I and many others look at that research and say "see this is proof".
There are many scientists who are theists who do not believe in evolution.

I am not going to use my own words anymore since they are so easily misunderstood. We went from genetic DNA mutations to chromasomes. I understand not ALL DNA mutations are detremental to life. My stance is that the though a base sequence can be altered, the base code information had to be there in the first place.
"For example, some mutations alter a gene’s DNA base sequence " Mutations and Health - Genetics Home Reference
Now on to chromasomes. I believe it is evolutionists opinions that chromasomes evolve. That is why we have a horse and a donkey. That would make a donkey; a horse with Down's Syndrome.
Can changes in the number of chromosomes affect health and development?
Human cells normally contain 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46 chromosomes in each cell. A change in the number of chromosomes can cause problems with growth, development, and function of the body’s systems. These changes can occur during the formation of reproductive cells (eggs and sperm), in early fetal development, or in any cell after birth. A gain or loss of chromosomes from the normal 46 is called aneuploidy.
A common form of aneuploidy is trisomy, or the presence of an extra chromosome in cells. “Tri-” is Greek for “three”; people with trisomy have three copies of a particular chromosome in cells instead of the normal two copies. Down syndrome is an example of a condition caused by trisomy. People with Down syndrome typically have three copies of chromosome 21 in each cell, for a total of 47 chromosomes per cell.
Monosomy, or the loss of one chromosome in cells, is another kind of aneuploidy. “Mono-” is Greek for “one”; people with monosomy have one copy of a particular chromosome in cells instead of the normal two copies. Turner syndrome is a condition caused by monosomy. Women with Turner syndrome usually have only one copy of the X chromosome in every cell, for a total of 45 chromosomes per cell.
Rarely, some cells end up with complete extra sets of chromosomes. Cells with one additional set of chromosomes, for a total of 69 chromosomes, are called triploid. Cells with two additional sets of chromosomes, for a total of 92 chromosomes, are called tetraploid. A condition in which every cell in the body has an extra set of chromosomes is not compatible with life.
In some cases, a change in the number of chromosomes occurs only in certain cells. When an individual has two or more cell populations with a different chromosomal makeup, this situation is called chromosomal mosaicism. Chromosomal mosaicism occurs from an error in cell division in cells other than eggs and sperm. Most commonly, some cells end up with one extra or missing chromosome (for a total of 45 or 47 chromosomes per cell), while other cells have the usual 46 chromosomes. Mosaic Turner syndrome is one example of chromosomal mosaicism. In females with this condition, some cells have 45 chromosomes because they are missing one copy of the X chromosome, while other cells have the usual number of chromosomes.
Many cancer cells also have changes in their number of chromosomes. These changes are not inherited; they occur in somatic cells (cells other than eggs or sperm) during the formation or progression of a cancerous tumor.
For more information about chromosomal disorders:
A discussion of how chromosomal abnormalities happen
is provided by the National Human Genome Research Institute.
The Centre for Genetics Education offers a fact sheet about changes in chromosome number or size
.
Additional information about chromosome abnormalities
is available from the Wellcome Trust.
The National Organization for Rare Disorders offers an overview of triploid syndrome
.
Chromosomal Mosaicism
, a web site provided by the University of British Columbia, offers detailed information about mosaic chromosomal abnormalities.
MedlinePlus offers an encyclopedia article about chromosomal mosaicism
.
Now lets focus here. Show me any scientific evidence that a chromasome can evolve into a higher more complex life form. I am not interested in opinions or theory's. If there is research proof we will see a legitamate PHd's name on it.

by zagor instudy detects recent instance of human evolution by nicholas wadea surprisingly recent instance of human evolution has been detected among the peoples of east africa.
it is the ability to digest milk in adulthood, conferred by genetic changes that occurred as recently as 3,000 years ago, a team of geneticists has found.. the finding is a striking example of a cultural practice the raising of dairy cattle feeding back into the human genome.
it also seems to be one of the first instances of convergent human evolution to be documented at the genetic level.

List of genetic disorders - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
See if you can read each and every one of these genetic diseases and then explain WHY when something happens to the CODE it means something very bad has happened.
Now why can't we find the genes and see evolutionary progress showing the development of 2020 vision, or bones that don't break, or higher intelligence, why are all genetic abnormalities causing diseases? Or how about something really simple, a mutation/varience that makes one unable to get sick, or disease, or even the common cold.
Not going to happen because it is not already written in the human code. Break the code and get diseases. Where's the upward evolutionary progress here?

LOL Kate, Since when is genetic kinship not a matter of shared ancestry?
When one has 62 chromasomes and one has 64 and any changes in chromasomes causes fatal/bad/big problems/ see "the human transcript map" above.
You can assume they came from the same place, you have no scientific proof of that. The science we have thus far disproves that these types of changes can take place to create another species. Like I said, show me.
We have evidence of sooooooo many diseases causes from errors in DNa and chromasomes. WHY is there no evidence of errors causing improvements?

Lets not stop there!
The Human Transcript Map Go through every chromasome on the lower right hand side and find me just one mutation/varience/mistake/missing part that caused something good to happen. Just one.
This is why I no longer believe. You can SAY that errors/variences in the DNA code, genes, and chromasomes caused all life, you can believe all life got here via evolution, but the evidence I'm seeing does not allow me to come to that conclusion.

Another obvious answer; Because they share a common ancestry.
In your opinion it is "obvious" but that is because your starting point is that evolution is a proven fact. In my opinion they are two different animals in the same family that are close enough to mate but since they are two different animals they will be sterile.
I used to believe that but not anymore. I used to believe eohippus (sp) was the common ancestor. But you just can't screw around with chromasomes. Explain what happens to a human when a chromasome is changed. Here is a simple example for us simpletons;Introduction to Chromosome Diseases - CureResearch.com
Now show me any evidence at all that additional or missing chrmosomes can create a higher life form.

Hooberus I doubt that many evolutionists will read that book. It seems to me that evolution has become more of a religion based on mythical evidence that must be protected from us lowly ignorant ones.
There is no evidence that any organism has ever aquired new genetic material from the sun and evolved into a more comlpex organism.
